Sterling silver tarnishes due to a reaction with sulfur in the air and moisture, forming a dark layer on the surface. While sterling silver is made mostly of pure silver, it also contains a small amount of copper mixed in for added strength makes it more reactive, which speeds up tarnishing when exposed to air, water, or cosmetics. However it is removable.

  • Fun fact, the more you wear your silver jewelry, the shinier it gets. This is due to the oils on your body and friction polishing it.
  • You can also keep your jewelry in the clear zip bag that came with your packaging, as it is an anti-tarnishing zip pouch.
  • Regular cleaning with provided polishing cloth can also keep it shiny.

Tarnishing is inevitable for sterling silver, but here are some jewelry care videos, instructions and information on how to clean your silver jewelry.

.935 Argentium silver is a high-quality type of sterling silver that includes a small amount of germanium, which makes it more resistant to tarnishing than traditional sterling silver. It's hypoallergenic, brighter in color, and requires less maintenance, making it a popular choice for durable, low-maintenance silver jewelry.

  • Sterling silver is generally hypoallergenic for most people, but because it typically contains a small amount of copper (usually around 7.5%), it can sometimes cause a reaction in those with extremely sensitive skin.
  • Argentium silver, a type of sterling with added germanium, is an even better option for those with sensitivities, as it is especially hypoallergenic and less prone to tarnishing.

Please keep in mind that drops have limited amounts, as I make everything by myself and also depends on the casters timeline, so it does takes long to produce all the jewelry pieces. However, updates and drop dates will be posted on socials as well as email list. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
